I tried to re-install Exchange Server 2007 and received the following
message:

"The Exchange Server is in inconsistent state. Only disaster recovery mode
is available".

The OS is: Windows Server 2003 R2 X64 and the server was re-installed too
after a unsuccessful installation of Exchange server 2007.

We have one DC and one GC(Windows Server 2003). I looked into your support
pages but couldn't find any help.
They told me they had tried already to install and prep AD. Can you pls
assist?

Hi there,

You can fix this if infact you actually have nothing to recover by:

1) Removing any Exchange related files under %Program
Files%\Microsoft\Exchange Server

2) Removing all keys under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Exchange

Note: If installation went far enough that you can see the Exchange Server
is in the Exchange Administrative Group, then it is probably best once
re-installing to use the command line \recoverserver parameter.

setup.com \recoverserver
