POP3 problems on a new server

I have recently added a new Exchange 2003 Standard server to our
Domain. This is an additional server that we want to use for mailbox
storage we will call it New Server. The other server in the picture,
Old Server, is SBS 2003. The exchange installation went smoothly, both
servers can communicate and can see each other fine. SMTP packets are
sent without any issues... We moved all the mailboxes to the New
server, email communication seemed to work fine. Till I realized that
POP3 access for our company's blackberries no longer would work. Both
servers have the POP3 service running and both servers have the POP3
virtual server running with the default settings. Our router routes
all POP3 and SMTP traffic to our old server. When a mailbox resides on
the Old server, Pop3 communication works fine, however, when it is
moved to the new server: pop3 stops working. I am a newbie when it
comes to exchange... I've been studying up to the best of my ability
but am getting nowhere... Please help

Im not sure why you are running POP3 for your BB's. If you dont have BES,
use BIS (Blackberry Internet Service).

If your router is forwarding the requests for POP3 to your old server,
update the routre to point to the new server instead.

I tried that as a test procedure last night and it didn't seem to
work. Either way, that shouldn't be a problem should it? Both servers
are part of the same administrative group, so both servers should be
able to authenticate a user and point them to the right place. Seems
to work fine for smtp traffic, Pop 3 is where I am running into
issues. Am I missing something here?

I have some more information here that might prove useful. It seems I
am dealing with a logon failure of some sort. I checked the error logs
under Application and found a few things.

First off I found the following error on the new server: event ID =
1022; source = MSExchangeIS Mailbox; Category = Logons; Type = Error;
Description = Logon Failure on database "First Storage Group\Mailbox
Store ([NEW SERVER])" - Windows 2000 account [Domain]\[UserName] yada
yada yada

Then Next up I found an error on the Old server: event ID = 1011;
source = POP3SVC; Category = Authentication; Type = Error; Description
= Authentication attempt from [IP Address] to [User email address] has
failed with error 0x52e.

I checked to make sure that the Mailbox Alias value and the User Logon
Name (Pre-Windows 2000) values matched and they do. I still have no
clue what is causing this problem... Please help

accept their connection. The funny thing about this is that once I
move them back to the old server, pop3 connects right away, but on the
new server they can only get to their mail through smtp. I'm totally
stuck on this one
